The graffiti seen in SUMMIT is drawn by me. Since I live in New York City where I'm surrounded by it, I like to take inspiration from the art I see on the streets. A lot of the graffiti in the background of the webcomic alludes to other teams and characters that haven't shown up yet.

Since SUMMIT is a mixture of real world and cyberpunk elements, holograms are a vital part of setting the scene. I draw a few of them, but most of the time I make them by combining pre-existing images with relevant text. I try to keep them relevant to the game or scene and sometimes include small easter eggs.

Holograms are also a good way to visually differentiate which viewpoint we are seeing the world from. Below, you can see what the city looks like through the eyes of regular people vs. players wearing the contact lenses.

The most important holograms in the story are Peaks. One of the main goals of Agon is to find and capture Peaks for reward money.

Although the comic doesn't show it, Peaks rotate and are slightly transparent.

Though time consuming to create for the amount of screen time they get, background character are important for setting a scene. Sometimes, I use pre-made assets, but when I can, I like to draw them myself. In doing so, I have designed characters that fit the aesthetic of SUMMIT. It's also convenient because If I want, I can always bring them back and use them in the future.
